Construction of the Loreng’elup maternity ward continues to move forward with the roof being put up. The maternity ward is TBI’s contribution to supporting access to maternal health care and with support from the Safaricom Foundation have put up an 8 bed maternity ward at Loreng’elup dispensary.
With the roof put up, we are currently working on the windows and doors which should be up next week.
This maternity will reduce the strain on women who have to cover a minimum of 40 kilometres to Lodwar Hospital to recieve maternal care. It is a step in increasing access to maternal health for the women in this region.
